Mission: The goals of our Artist-in-Residence program are characterized by the following inquiries:
How can we create an environment in which artists have the freedom to explore and experiment?
How can we create an environment that allows artists the luxury of sustained time in order to investigate ways of thinking, to focus ideas and to test vision?
How can we structure programs and community outreach that give audiences an opportunity to observe and interact with artists who are engaged in their work while not imposing on artist’s time and privacy?
How can we establish residency guidelines that encourage a wide-ranging application pool?
How can we support and nurture emerging artists at a crucial point in their career?

Number of Artists: Up to 1 artist at a time
Accommodations: The program offers studio space, living quarters and a stipend for extended periods of concentrated on-site studio work and community discourse.
Length of Stay: 2 -4 months
Demographic: Residents are chosen on the basis of merit with an emphasis on highly promising emerging artists who have an interest in public dialogue.
Benefits: During the course of the residency, artists are asked to present a series of informal talks and dialogues that promote discussion and open the language of contemporary art to artists and a broad and challenging public.
