Mission: DongDong & LuLu Artist Residency was created in October 2010 by Chinese Couple Shen Jingdong & Lu Coral.
The DongDong & LuLu Artist Residency Program is an International Artists Residency Program providing artists, curators, writers, and academics with the opportunity to live and create work in Beijing, Nanjing or Huhhot, China.
The Residency gives opportunities to international artists to exchange an artistic experience in China, including exhibitions, events, artistic creation, interaction and collaboration with Chinese and foreign artists living in China.
DongDong & Lulu Artist Residency Program seeks to build a platform for artists to communicate widely by inviting international artists to China. Through communication with local artists, providing diversified reference and mutual promotion for local art environments, and creating conditions for communication across diverse fields and geographical areas builds a strong interactive foundation. Lectures, art presentations, workshops and open studio are some of the forms for broad and deep interactions among artists, students and the public.

Dongdong and Lulu’s Beijing residency is located in Songzhuang Art Village of Beijing. More than 5,000 artists live in the village, including oil painters, sculptors, photographers, animators, dancers, writers and so on! Some of these artists are quite famous, but most are young artists who hope to achieve their dream in the village.
Cost: The residency is $800 USD per month.

Accommodations: The residency is situated in a village courtyard, in the local style, and measures about 200 square meters. The studio is 120 sqm, with 3m high ceilings and an 80 sqm yard.
The bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and working space are all inside.
