Location: Pine Plains, NY
Cost: The fee for the program is $950 and residency runs from May until October, each year. Each session is 4 weeks long. We select 49 artists for our Summer Program. The residency includes food, shared kitchen is fully stocked for the artists to use. ChaNorth awards a fellowship for a young artist and a solo show award along with the opportunity of a selected group show and studio visits.
The other special project we run in April 1st-April 29th, 2018 is an experimental collaborative residency with ArtSlant, application through ArtSlant And there is an application fee which is the $25 dollar, the application deadline is February 10th, 2018. The residency is free, fully funded. The number of selected artists 4.

Accommodations: Private bedroom with private or shared bathroom, private studio, two communal kitchen, and a sitting room and garden
Length of Stay: 4 weeks
Demographic & Medium: Local, national, international artists emerging and established artists. Students currently enrolled at any university, college, or other educational institution will not be considered.
All creative fields, including but is not limited to visual arts, writing, choreography, music composition, and performance. chaNorth is located on a 5-acre homestead property and therefore offers ample outdoor space to host performances, installations and a sculpture park.
Benefits: Studio visits 2-3 times per session from curators, critics, gallerists, residency directors and other art professionals.
Each session culminates in an Open Studio event that is open to the general public.
Fellowship award, we award one merit-based fellowship for a young artist, age under 30, for the summer residency session.

Mission: chaNorth is a New York State artist residency aimed at providing a nourishing, focused environment for emerging and established artists as they continue their committed practices.
