Individual cottage studios in the restored pre-famine village of Cill Rialaig on Bolus Head, County Kerry, open to full-time practising visual artists, writers, poets, and musicians from anywhere in the world. Residencies run one to four weeks (most are one to two) and carry no rental charge; residents pay €125/week toward utilities and waste disposal and cover their own travel, food, stove fuel, and materials. A €40 non-refundable application fee must reach the office by close of business on the deadline for the application to be considered. Apply by email to cillrialaigarts@gmail.com with the program's application document, a cover letter, a CV, a list of illustrations, and 8–10 work samples. The panel meets soon after the deadline and replies within 10–12 weeks; roughly 20–25 residencies are awarded from 100–350 applications. Placements from this panel fall largely in 2027–28.
The second of Cill Rialaig's two annual selection rounds. Same terms as the September panel: individual cottage studios on Bolus Head for one to four weeks, no rental charge, €125/week toward utilities and waste disposal, and a €40 non-refundable application fee that must be received by close of business on March 15. Applications go by email to cillrialaigarts@gmail.com only. Summer and Christmas/New Year periods are the most heavily oversubscribed, and placements from this panel run into 2028.
