Project Row Houses is a community-based art organization in Houston's Third Ward, a historically Black neighborhood. Founded by artist Rick Lowe in 1993, the program transforms shotgun-style houses into exhibition spaces and artist residencies. Residents create site-specific installations that engage with the neighborhood's history, culture, and current social dynamics. One of the most important socially engaged art programs in the United States.
