SIM (Association of Icelandic Visual Artists) runs residencies in a former herring factory in Reykjavík's harbor district. Studios overlook the Faxaflói bay with views of Mount Esja. The program hosts 8–10 residents at a time in a lively international cohort. Reykjavík's compact but intense art scene — with the Reykjavík Art Museum, the Living Art Museum, and a dense gallery ecosystem — is walkable from the studio.

129d leftSÍM accepts applications only during two fixed windows each year. The next window runs December 1–31, 2026 for residencies taking place July–December 2027. Self-directed, self-funded stays of one to three months in Reykjavík at €500–850/month depending on the space.
