An initiative of Maine's Libra Foundation, Monson Arts launched in 2018 in a small town at the edge of Maine's North Woods. The fully funded program invites cohorts of 5 artists and 5 writers for two- and four-week residencies in renovated historic homes throughout town, with all meals, private studios (including wood and metal shop access), and a stipend of $500 (four-week) or $250 (two-week). A special photography residency with fully equipped darkroom and digital studio — run in collaboration with photographer Todd Watts — is offered five times per year. Applications open three times annually.
